VistaMilk Research Ireland Centre
VistaMilk is Ireland’s national centre for science and digital innovation in pasture-based dairy, connecting world-class research with real-world practice.
Our purpose is to deliver breakthrough science and digital solutions that enhance sustainability, productivity, economic viability and animal welfare across the dairy system. Working in partnership with farmers, industry, researchers and policymakers, we translate complex science into practical, validated tools and insights that enable better decisions – from soil and grassland management to milk production, food innovation and policy.
Our ambition is to shape the world’s most sustainable and competitive pasture-based dairy system by enabling evidence-based, value-driven decisions from soil to society.
When we succeed, Irish dairy will be globally recognised as future-ready and science-led – with sustainability and competitiveness advancing together, research consistently translating into impact and innovation strengthening Ireland’s rural economy and global leadership in sustainable agri-food.
VistaMilk Explore
VistaMilk Explore is a new AgriTech test-bed facility based at Teagasc Moorepark, Co. Cork. It gives innovators and businesses access to leading agricultural researchers, technical expertise, working farms and laboratory facilities. From early proof-of-concept trials to real-world testing and validation, VistaMilk Explore supports the development of agricultural technologies from concept towards commercial deployment.

Impact
The objective is to support the translation of excellent research into demonstrable contributions to society and the economy, by embedding an evidence-based, systematic and formalised approach to facilitating dialogue and stakeholder consultation within VistaMilk.
Emerging Technologies
The objective is to progress and develop the state-of-the-art in emerging ICT (Hardware) and biological analytical technologies (Wetware) solutions targeted at solving key domain problems within the agri-food sector.
System of Systems
The objective is to create a platform for a powerful, virtual system-of-systems, founded on a federated collective populated with (partial) virtual representations of each node in the soil-to-gut chain
AgriFood Informatics
The objective is to advance and support cutting-edge data acquisition, management and analytical solutions that will translate into solutions for problem statements in Soil, Pasture, Animal and Food thematic areas.
