Mar chuid den iarracht atá á dhéanamh againn chun méid na Gaeilge a úsáidimid inár gcuid cumarsáide in VistaMilk, reáchtáil muid feachtas do Sheachtain na Gaeilge áit ar thugamar faoi na fostaithe agus na mic léinn ar fud na gcineálacha éagsúla lárionaid agus cad é a ról mar chuid de VistaMilk. Tá Jennifer Drohan ina thaighdeoir i Walton agus tá píosa scríofa aici i nGaeilge chun a ról a mhíniú laistigh de VistaMilk agus tá foclóir téarmaí a bhaineann le VistaMilk ina cuid freisin.

Haigh, is mise Jennifer! Is mac léinn taighde mé. Tá mé ionnaithe idir Ollscoil Teicneolaíochta an Oirdheiscirt, Pórtlairge agus an Istitúid Walton. Thosaigh mé mo tionscadal taighde le VistaMilk sa bhliain 2021. Bhain mé céim amach i mbitheolaíocht mhóilíneach. Don taighde seo, déanaim stáidéar ar innealtóireacht an bhaictéir chun iad a usáid le feabhas a chur ar shláinte ainmhithe.

As part of our efforts to increase the proportion of Irish that we use in our communications in VistaMilk we ran a campaign for Irish Week where we highlighted staff and students across various centres and what their role is as part of VistaMilk.  Jennifer Drohan is a researcher in Walton and she has written a piece in Irish to describe her role within VistaMilk and she has also included a glossary of terms that are appropriate to VistaMilk.

Hi, I’m Jennifer. I’m a research student. I’m based between SETU and Walton Institute. I began my research project with VistaMilk in 2021. I did an undergraduate course in molecular biology. For my project here, I am engineering bacteria to use them for the improvement of animal health.
