VistaMilk held its first transition year programme in March 2023. We had 16 students from different schools across Cork, Tipperary, Waterford and Kilkenny. it was a very exciting week with students learning about the science in VistaMilk while also learning about different possible career options in the area of STEM.
The 5 day programme was held in Teagasc Moorepark with visits to Tyndall National Institute and Walton Institute. There was a wide range of activities such as sewing using conductive thread, DNA extraction experiments and testing out virtual reality headsets. We also ran a careers session with talks from people at very different stages of their career.
Overall the programme was a huge success and we got some very positive feedback. We are already looking forward to welcoming our next group of students next year!
