Dr Paul Cotter (Teagasc; Food-PI; male, h-index 80) is a senior principal research officer and Head of Food Biosciences at Teagasc. He is also a PI with the APC SFI Research Centre and Food for Health Ireland, manages the Teagasc/APC DNA sequencing platform, and co-ordinates the €10.5 million H2020 Innovation Action, MASTER. His research relates to the microbiology of the food chain and of humans and its relationship with health. Paul has >300 peer reviewed publications and ~25,800 Google Scholar citations. Dr Cotter’s laboratory was awarded the title of Irish Food/Agriculture Laboratory of the Year 2013, 2016, 2017 and 2018 and he has also received numerous personal awards. Paul is co-lead with Orla O’Sullivan (PI) in the Platform 5 research in –omics. He is co-supervisor to a postdoctoral researcher in this Platform. Paul is co-leader to Spoke 8 digestive characteristics with Sasi Balasubramaniam (TSSG). He is supervisor to one postdoctoral researcher and co-supervisor to one postdoctoral and a PhD student in Spoke 8 (with UCC). He also co-supervises a PhD student in Spoke 4 Animal nutrition with Paul Galvin (Tyndall) and Platform 2 communications with TSSG.
