James Rohan

James Rohan is a UCC Chemistry graduate. He completed a Ph.D. at the University of Southampton on the use of microelectrodes for electrochemical analysis. He established and leads the Electrochemical Materials and Energy research group at Tyndall National Institute. His research interests include electrochemical materials and device fabrication for micro/nano electronics, energy storage and sensor applications. He has been PI on projects funded by SFI, EI, IRC, EU framework programmes and numerous industry funded projects with companies based in Ireland and overseas. He is a lecturer in the UCC School of Chemistry for both undergraduate and postgraduate modules and supervises M.Sc. and Ph.D. graduate research. He is Ireland’s representative for the International Society of Electrochemistry. James is a supervisor to a 2 PhD students in Spoke 5 animal health and Platform 1 sensors, respectively
