Deirdre is a Research Officer in Teagasc Animal & Grassland Research and Innovation Centre. Deirdre’s main areas of research are grass white clover systems for high stocking rate dairy production systems, N fertiliser application strategies and grass growth modelling. Deirdre has been a primary supervisor to 7 PhD and 1 Masters students who have completed their studies. Previous research team members include technicians and a Post Doc. Collaborator on a number of Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, FP7 and H2020 funded projects. PI on the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine Stimulus Funded project PrecisionGrazing in which the MoSt Grass Growth Model was developed. Has published over 60 peer reviewed papers. Deirdre is a co-lead for Spoke 2 pasture management in VistaMilk with Daniela Iacopino. She is supervising two postdoctoral researchers and one research assistant, while co-supervising three PhD students all in Spoke 2 with Insight@UCD.
